Anti-Inflammatory Blueberry Juice

  • Jul 18
  • 1 min read

This refreshing blueberry juice is one of the easiest summer drinks you can make. Instead of straining out the pulp, the whole blueberries are blended to keep more of their naturally occurring fibre and nutrients. A squeeze of fresh lemon brightens the flavour, while frozen blueberries make it cold and refreshing without any added sugar.

Ingredients

1 cup frozen blueberries

½ cup cold water

Juice of ½ – 1 lemon

Directions

  1. Add the frozen blueberries, water, and lemon juice to a blender.

  2. Blend until completely smooth.

  3. Add a little extra water if you prefer a thinner consistency.

  4. Pour over ice and enjoy immediately.

Easy Swaps

  • Make it sweeter: Add half a banana, a splash of orange juice, or a small amount of honey or maple syrup.

  • Add more flavour: Blend in fresh mint, basil, ginger, or lime juice.

  • Make it sparkling: Replace some of the water with sparkling water after blending.

  • Use fresh blueberries: Add a handful of ice before blending.

  • Add protein: Blend with plain Greek yogurt or unflavoured protein powder for a more filling smoothie-style drink.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Made with only three simple ingredients

  • Naturally sweet with no added sugar required

  • Provides fibre because the whole fruit is used

  • Packed with colourful plant compounds

  • Ready in less than five minutes

Nutrition Tip

Blending the whole blueberries keeps the fruit’s fibre in the drink. Fibre helps support digestion, fullness, and steadier blood sugar levels compared with strained fruit juice.

Storage

This drink is best enjoyed immediately. If needed, store it in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and stir or shake well before drinking.
