Chicken Shawarma Hummus

Prep time: 15 minutes - Cook time: 15 minutes - Total time: 30 minutes


4-5 chicken breasts, cut thinly

2-3 tbsp olive oil

Spice Mix:

1 tbsp ground allspice

1 tbsp garlic powder,

2 tsp ground cloves

2 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tsp ground nutmeg

2 tsp ground cardamom

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp salt & black pepper

Homemade Hummus:

1 can chickpeas

1 clove garlic

1/4 cup tahini

Juice from 1/2 lemon

½ tsp salt

  1. Slice down the middle of each chicken breast to create two, even halves.

  2. Lightly coat chicken in olive oil. Mix all the above spices together and use to coat chicken on both sides.

  3. On medium-high heat, cook on stovetop for 5 minutes per side. Remove from stovetop and cut chicken into pieces. Transfer back to pan and continue to cook for 2-3 minutes.

  4. For hummus, add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

  5. Plate hummus with sliced chicken on top and enjoy with your favorite veggies!
